Growth and moving forward introduction...

Hi

I'm Nicky, I'm the founder of The Widowed Collective, I wanted to create a not for profit peer to peer support group to help widows and widowers of all ages regardless of age, marital status or sexual identity. We are here to support you in every stage of your widowed journey.

I'd like this section of our forum to be a place of safety where widows who are perhaps a little further forward in their grief journey and starting to think about healing, hope and moving forward - as widows we never move on but we do and must move forward.

I'm 5 years into this journey as a widow although my husband suffered a catastrophic brain injury 3 years prior to that (I was technically married but emotionally widowed in my mind in 2017). I am 54, live in Manchester, Uk I'm a serial entrepreneur, I own an events company that delivers big awards shows around the world (I'm currently writing tis in Porto where I am to look at an events venue) I'm also the founder of three dating apps chapter2dating.app our naughtier sister app widowsfire.dating and in March 2025 I launmched soberlove.app an app I found a need for after being admitted to rehab for alcoholism last year, I can proudly say I'm now 11 months sober!

I can aslo say I am starting to navigate a way forward, I've met someone (yes on one of my own apps, WidowsFire actually but he seems to have morphed into what might just be my Chapter 2!! Its early days (4 months) but its going really well and I really like him.

Please feel free to introduce yourself here and tell us a bit more about you and your journey
