Widowhood changes everything. It’s not just the quiet moments at home; it’s the way the world feels different when you step outside. Often, the hardest part isn't just the grief, it’s the feeling that no one truly "gets it."
At The Widowed Collective, we believe that while you have to walk this path, you shouldn't have to walk it alone. That’s why we are so excited to invite you to our upcoming Manchester Community Social.
What is the Manchester Community Social?
This isn't a clinical support group or a formal seminar. It is exactly what it sounds like: a social.
This event is designed to be a relaxed, no-pressure space for widows and widowers of all ages and backgrounds to come together. Whether you lost your partner last month or several years ago, you are welcome here.
Why Should You Come?
If you’ve been feeling isolated or find it difficult to talk to friends who haven't experienced loss, this event is for you. Here’s what you can expect:
Real Connection: Meet people who understand the unique challenges of solo parenting, or simply the weight of an empty chair.
A Safe Space: There are no platitudes here. You can talk about your partner, you can talk about your day, or you can just sit and enjoy the company of people who won’t judge your journey.
Community & Friendship: Many of our members find that these socials are the starting point for lifelong friendships and a vital support network.
Event Details
We’ve chosen a warm, welcoming venue in the heart of Manchester to make sure the evening feels like a night out with friends rather than a "meeting."
When: Wednesday, 28th January
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Where: The Pen and Pencil, Manchester (Northern Quarter)
Cost: Free
Supporting Our Mission
While the event is free to attend, donations are very much welcome. Every contribution helps us continue building this community, hosting more events, and ensuring that no widowed person has to face their journey alone.
If you would like to support us, we will be accepting donations on the night, or if you prefer to contribute digitally, you can do so via our GoFundMe page here:
Your generosity allows us to keep these vital spaces open for everyone.
How to Join Us
Spaces are limited to ensure the evening remains intimate and comfortable. You can book your free ticket via our website below:
If you can’t make this one, don't worry. We host regular online drop-ins every Monday and have a thriving WhatsApp community and forum to keep us all connected 365 days a year.
See you in Manchester!
