We're Changing the Narrative: Our Story on 5 News

We recently had the incredible honor of being featured on 5 News, sharing the mission behind The Widowed Collective. I was joined by some of our amazing members to talk about the reality of life after loss, and it was such a powerful moment for our community.
As I often say, this is "the club no one wants to join." But as we shared on the program, once you’re here, you realize very quickly that you don’t have to walk this shattering path alone. We talked about what widowhood really looks like—the years of "firsts," the mountain of solo parenting, and that heavy isolation when the world moves on but you’re still standing still.
If you missed the broadcast, you can catch the full segment here:
Built by Us, For Us
I started The Widowed Collective because we needed something different. A space led entirely by people who have actually lived it. Our community is built on the things we all needed most:
No Platitudes: You won’t hear "everything happens for a reason" here.
No Pressure: Grief doesn’t have a stopwatch. Whether it’s been a week or a decade, you belong.
Total Inclusivity: We are here for every widowed person, period.
How You Can Join Our Community
If our story resonated with you, or you know someone struggling to find their tribe, please come and join us. We’ve made it as simple as possible to connect:
📱 Join the WhatsApp Group: Sign up at thewidowedcollective.com to get into our safe, moderated peer-to-peer space.
💻 Our Weekly Zooms: For those who need face-to-face connection, sign up to become a member for our weekly Zoom meetings.
A quick note: To keep our community safe from scammers, we’ve taken the Zoom details off public spaces—you’ll find them tucked safely inside our membership portal once you've signed up.
We Need Your Support
The Widowed Collective is a not-for-profit. We are fueled by passion, but we are funded entirely by the generosity of people like you. Your donations help us keep our platforms safe, our resources accessible, and our community growing.
If you’re in a position to support our mission, please consider donating to our GoFundMe:
Losing a partner is the end of a story you thought you were writing together. But it doesn’t have to be the end of yourstory. It’s just a different, difficult chapter and we are here to walk through it with you.
