Local "normal people plus"
Good morning from (currently) Plymouth, and then tomorrow night from home in South Essex. I have just made contact with a group in the Southend/Rayleigh area of the world called Two2One ... "We are a friendly, informal voluntary group for widows and widowers who wish to start socialising again, and make new friends following the loss of a loved one. Numerous social events are run throughout the year."
Just so happens they have a monthly "Full English" gathering this Sunday 25th and @ 50 turn up for a breakfast and chat. Their registered number is around 250 widow/ers and it has been going for 15 years. No membership fee applies - we all just pay for the events we attend - in this case £11 for breakfast (a bargain - I hope!!).
Earlier in my "Year Two" life i was looking for "normal people" groups - so missed this one. As I begin "Year Three" I am now looking to be amongst "normal people plus" (those with the same/similar experience as all of us here). Having tried the "normal people minus" route and found it lacked something important (and also stressed me out: "Can I be your friend please?" to a room of 60+ strangers), I am curious what this group may offer.
By the way - it was founded by a lady called Mandy. My wife was Mandy and I keep bumping into other "Mandys" - enough to make me think that the Twilight Zone may be real! 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Paul, your message was very useful to people in your local area. Does anyone know of something similar in Southampton/Winchester area? I’m not a great joiner of groups but maybe it is a way forward? Hope you all have a good weekend.
